Un aumento de temperatura media junto con bajada de precipitaciones haría desaparecer las poblaciones de pinsapo situadas a menor altitud: Alpujata, Bohornoque, Puerto Verde etc. debido al fuerte desfase entre la caída de hoja en verano y la formación de piñas en primavera.
