Subtropical Storm Ruven (Cleopatra): Extratropical system developed in a Subtropical Storm over Central Mediterranean Sea during 18-20 November 2013 period.
The region most affected is Sardinia, Calabria and Apulia (Puglia).
In Sardinia 18 people dead and many many damages for floods reported. 470 mm of rain in 12/h (medie value of 1000 mm for year)-
On the 19th night, the cyclone landfall in the south-central Italy with tropical storm caracteristics.
waterspout and tornado formed over Italian coast. A tornado F2 inflict a damages in the city of Gallipoli, Puglia region.
Italy declares state of emergency.

The storm make a landfall 19 November night over central Italy, in my region, Latium. It like a t2.5 tropical storm intensity, 35-40 kt wind, but wind speed exceeded 50-60 kt (max Sabaudia coast 62.3 kt). Damages for excessive big wave in the coast. Many trees is collapsed. The little circulation 989hpa, The outflow radii cirrus band, warm core and convection in the center is evident :

This low-system left us heavy rain in the Balearic islands that night, about 40-50 mm in a few hours and strong winds... we had rainfall amounts over 200 to 300 mm in the Tramuntana mountain range however it wasn't as violent as in your area, the videos and images you posted are impressive! :o
These types of systems usually strengthen as they approach the central mediterranean, you are lucky guys! unfortunately there were some fatalities as I heard in the local news :( Were there any severe weather warnings for Sardinia that day?
