DISCUSION SOBRE LA TORMENTA TROPICAL BERYL NUMERO 3
SNM CENTRO NACIONAL DE HURACANES MIAMI FL AL022018
TRADUCIDO POR EL SERVICIO NACIONAL DE METEOROLOGIA SAN JUAN PR
1100 PM AST JUEVES 5 DE JULIO DE 2018
BERYL HA MANTENIDO UN AREA DE CONVECCION CERCA DEL CENTRO, EXCEPTO
POR UN PERIODO CORTO ALREDEDOR DE LAS 23000 UTC CUANDO UNA DE LAS
BANDAS ESTUVO EXPUESTA, REVELANDO DE 10- A 11-DECIMAS DE BANDA.
DATOS DE MICROONDAS PASIVO DE SATELITE DUARNTE LAS PASADAS HORAS
TAMBIEN HAN INDICADO LA EXISTENCIA DE UN OJO CON DIAMETRO DE 5
MILLAS NAUTICAS BAJO EL CDO. DADO EL TAMANO PEQUENO DEL CICLON, EL
CUAL PUEDE AJUSTARSE RAPIDAMENTE A CAMBION CONVECTIVOS, Y ESTIMADOS
DE SATELITE DE DVORAK DE T3.5/55 NUDOS DEL SAB, LA INTENSIDAD DE
ESTA ADVERTENCIA HA SIDO AUMENTADA A 55 NUDOS.
EL ESTIMADO DE MOVIMIENTO INICIAL ES 275/12 NUDOS. LA MAYORIA DE LAS
GUIAS RECIENTES DE LOS MODELOS HAN REALIZADO UN CAMBIO PRONUNCIADO
HACIA EL SUR, LO CUAL ES SIGNIFICATIVO DADO QUE TODOS LOS MODELOS
HAN MOSTRADO UNA TRAYECTORIA DISTINCTIVA HACIA LA DERECHA, HACIA LOS
POLOS DURANTE LAS 48 HORAS PASADAS. EL ECMWF HA TENIDO LA MAYOR BIAS
HACIA LOS POLOS, Y ESTA AHORA COLOCADO HACIA EL EXTREMO NORTE. EL
GFS, HWRF, Y UKMET ESTAN AHORA AGRUPADOS A LO LARGO DEL EXTREMO SUR
DE LA DISTRIBUCION, CON EL CONSENSO DE LOS MODELOS EN ALGUN LUGAR
ENTRE LOS ULTIMOS MODELOS MENCIONADOS Y EL ECMWF. DADO EL TAMANO
PEQUENO DE BERYL, ESTOY TENIENDO DIFICULTADES PARA VISUALIZAR EL
MOVIMIENTO DE CICLON HACIA UNA ALTA PRESION FUERTE SUBTROPICAL
LOCALIZADA AL NORTE Y GANANDO LATITUD COMO EL ECMWF HA ESTADO Y
CONTINUE INDICANDO. COMO RESULTADO, EL NUEVO PRONOSTICO DE
TRAYECTORIA DEL CNH HA SIDO DESPLAZADO HACIA EL SUR DE LA
ADVERTENCIA ULTIMA, PERO NO TAN AL SUR COMO EL CONSENSO DEL GFS-HWRF-
UKMET, Y SE ENCUENTRA UN POCO AL SUR DE LAS SOLUCIONES DEL HCCA Y
FSSE.
ANALISIS DE VAPOR DE AGUA Y HUMEDAD DE LOS MODELOS INDICA QUE BARUL
HA LOGRADO MANTENERSE ALEJADO DEL AIRE SECO Y ESTABLE JUSTO AL SU
NORTE, DEBIDO EN GRAN PARTE A HUMEDAD PROFUNDA HACIA EL SUR
PROVENIENTE DE LA REGION ECUATORIAL. LA MAYORIA DE LOS MODELOS
GLOBALES PRONOSTICAN QUE ESTE PATRON CONTINUE DURANTE POR LOS MENOS
LAS PROXIMAS 48 HORAS. ESTE AMBIENTE FAVORABLE, JUNTO A UN
PRONOSTICO DE VIENTOS VERTICALES LEVES A CERCA DE 5 NUDOS DURANTE
LAS PROXIMAS 24 HOARS, DEBERAN PERMITIR QUE BERYL ALCANCE INTENSIDAD
DE HURACAN PARA TARDE EL VIERNES. A LAS 72 HORAS, CUANDO BERYL SE
APROXIME A LAS ANTILLAS MENORES, SE PRONOSTICA QUE LOS VIENTOS
VERTICALES AUMENTEN DESDE EL OESTE Y NOROESTE ENTRE 20 Y 25 NUDOS,
LO CUAL SE ESPERA QUE RESULTE EN UN DEBILITAMIENTO RAPIDO. TODOS LOS
MODELOS GLOBALES CONTINUAN MOSTRANDO EL CILON DISIPANDOSE A UNA ONDA
TROPICAL DESPUES DE LAS 72 HORS, LO CUAL ES LO QUE EL PRONOSTICO
ACTUAL CONTINUA MOSTRANDO PARA MANTENER LA CONTINUADAD DE LA
TRAYECTORIA PREVIA. SIN EMBARGO, SOLO UN LIGERO RETRASO EN EL INICIO
DE LAS CONDICIONES DE VIENTOS CORTANTES FUERTES PODRIA RESULTAR EN
QUE BERYL MANTENGA INTENSIDAD DE CICLON TROPICAL CUANDO SE MUEVA A
TRAVES DE LAS ANTILLAS MENORES EL DOMINGO.
AUNQUE SE ESPERA QUE BERYL SE DISIPE JUSTO AL ESTE DE LAS ANTILLAS
MENORES TEMPRANO LA SEMANA PROXIMA, LA ONDA TROPICAL REMANENTE
CONTINUARA MOVIENDOSE RAPIDAMENTE HACIA EL OESTE Y ES PROBABLE QUE
TRAIGA LLUVIAS LOCALMENTE FUERTES Y VIENTOS EN RAFAGAS SOBRE
PORCIONES DE LAS ISLAS DE SOTAVENTO EL DOMINGO Y LUNES.
MENSAJES IMPORTANTES:
1. DEBIDO A SU TAMANO MUY PEQUENO, EXISTE UNA INCERTIDUMBRE MAYOR DE
LO NORMAL EN EL ANALISIS DE LA INTENSIDAD ACTUAL DE BERYL. LA
CONFIDENCIA EN EL PRONOSTICO OFICIAL DE INTENSIDAD ES TAMBIEN MUCHO
MAS BAJA DE LO NORMAL. CAMBIOS RAPIDOS EN LA INTENSIDAD, TANTO
AUMENTAR O DISMINUIR, LOS CUALES SON DIFICILES DE PREDECIR SON
POSIBLES DURANTE LOS PROXIMOS DIAS.
2. MIENTRAS AUN SE ESPERA QUE BERYL SE DISIPE A CICLON TROPICAL EL
LUNES ANTES DE ALCANZAR LAS ANTILALS MENORES, EL IMPACTO DE LLUVIAS
Y VIENTOS SOBRE LAS ISLAS ES PROBABLE TEMPRANO LA SEMANA PROXIMA.
LOS RESIDENTES DEBERAN ESTAR ATENTOS A LOS PRODUCTOS EMITIDOS POR SU
OFICINA LOCAL DE METEOROLOGIA PARA MAS INFORMACION.

Microscopic #BERYL's eye has reappeared tonight. The amount of zooming-in required to examine the cyclone's structural feature is insane. BERYL is basically a puff of convection with a spin. As soon as it hits shear... poof! No wonder the computer models are so cruel to it.

Yep. Starting to feel like #Danny (2015) all over again, which also was super small and went poof before making it to the Lesser Antilles, but just occurred a month later. Somehow #Beryl might be even smaller

DISCUSION Y PRONOSTICO
----------------------
Guadeloupe, Dominica, Martinique, Santa Lucia, y Barbados. En el
resto del area a traves del norte de las Islas de Sotavento, se
esperan cantidades de lluvia de 2 pulgadas o menos.
PROXIMA ADVERTENCIA

#NOAA20 captured cool evidence of mesospheric gravity waves in the remnants of #Beryl last night via #VIIRS Day/Night Band + tropospheric gravity waves in IR, pretty unique in weak TC systems, check it out!
Subtropical Storm Beryl Special Discussion Number 16
NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL AL022018
100 PM AST Sat Jul 14 2018
The remnants of Beryl have persisted for the past several days,
moving through the Bahamas and into the Atlantic between the
eastern United States and Bermuda. During the last day or so, the
remnants have interacted with an upper-level trough, which has
resulted in the redevelopment of a well-defined circulation and
organized convection near the center. Recent scatterometer data
shows 35 kt winds northeast of the center, so advisories are
re-initiated on Beryl. While the strongest winds and convection are
relatively close to the center, the upper-level trough is likely
contributing baroclinic energy to the system, and thus the
regenerated Beryl is being called a subtropical cyclone rather than
a tropical cyclone.
The initial motion is 035/10. Beryl is in relatively light
southwesterly flow between the subtropical ridge and the
mid-latitude westerlies, and this pattern should steer the cyclone
generally northeastward for the next two to three days. Some
increase in forward speed may occur after 36 h as a mid-latitude
cyclone approaches from the west. The forecast track is a blend of
the HCCA and TVCN consensus models.
The forecast track takes Beryl over cold water north of the Gulf
Stream in 24 h or less, and the guidance shows little additional
intensification during that time. After that, the system should
decay over cold water without any extratropical transition. The
intensity forecast calls for the system to maintain a 35 kt
intensity for 24 hr, followed by weakening and eventual dissipation
just after 72 h.
